BITSAT Is Less Than A Month Away: Know How To Crack It!

‘An opportunity is always around the corner’

JEE Main 2018 now done and dusted, it is time for students to look forward to BITSAT and JEE Advanced. This year, many students seemed dejected with JEE Main exam and contemplated it to be a rather tough paper. But the world doesn’t stop and there are other opportunities for the students to grab. BITSAT is almost here and it brings the opportunity for students to get into 3 campuses of BITS in Pilani, Hyderabad, and Goa.

Opportunity is usually disguised as hard work, so most people don’t recognize it. If you want to achieve it, then the time is now. Preparing for an exam requires students to have grit and perseverance. One can start by scheduling a routine and it shouldn’t include much of fun activities. IPL comes every year, so nothing to worry about.

For BITSAT knowing the syllabus inside out is very important. One must dive deep in NCERT books for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and be well averse with concepts. The general trend has been that 80% of BITSAT is from NCERT.

If an exam is online, prepare online:

BITSAT online mode will be held from 16th May to 31st of May. BITSAT online will have objective type questions with negative marking, so speed and accuracy are of paramount importance. So, it’s high time for students to take as many online mock tests as they can and solve previous year’s papers.  Extensive practice will help students to know their strengths and weed out the weaknesses.

Coping up with 4 sections:

The BITSAT consists of 4 sections and one must also prepare for Logical Reasoning and English proficiency besides Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. For Logical reasoning, NTSE or MAT sample papers can be a good resource to practice. While preparing for the English proficiency section, one must make time (at least an hour or so) to read good newspapers and make a habit out of it. This will make the section a cake-walk if you start early.

Get lifelines to score more:

BITSAT is of 150 questions and a candidate is given 3 hours to complete it. If a candidate can complete the entire 150 questions within the stipulated time then he/she can attempt further 12 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. Given that the 3 hours are yet to be over, what better way to improve your BITSAT score and prove your intelligence. One must be mindful that if one chooses the extra questions, then he/she can’t change the answers of the 150 attempted questions.
