Understanding NMAT 2015

NMAT (Narsee Monjee Management Aptitude Test) is conducted by Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies. It is the entrance exam for admission to all the MBA full time courses of NMIMS Mumbai and the PGDM courses of NMIMS Hyderabad and Bengaluru. GMAC is the owner and administrator of NMAT exams. GMAC-Graduate Management Admission Council is a global non-profit organization comprised of leading graduate business schools around the world.

Candidates who are interested in NMAT must be graduates with 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in the first attempt. Candidates who are appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply for NMAT, subject to clearing the final examination in first attempt with 50% aggregate marks. For all the Full Time programs, candidates with two or more years of post-qualification work experience will be preferred.

Understanding NMAT 2015

The NMAT exam is a computer based exam that is conducted over a period of 10 weeks. Candidates can select their test date and slot based on the choice and availability. The NMAT exam is delivered across 27 centers in 18 cities throughout India.

The NMAT question paper is divided into 3 sections which aim to test the varied skills of the candidates, such as language skills, quantitative skills, and logical reasoning. The number of questions in language skills section are 32, in the quantitative skills section 48, and 40 in the logical reasoning section. There are a total of 120 questions. Candidates are given 120 minutes to answer all the questions. Candidates can however choose the order of questions in NMAT. Each of the three sections has individual section timings and candidates are supposed to answer the questions of a particular section within the specified section timing.

NMAT 2015 exam is expected to be held in the month of October and December. The results would be declared in the month of January 2016. Interested candidates can register online at NMAT office website www.nmat.org.in Payment can be made either at one of the designated bank branch, or online through debit/credit card, or through a bank demand draft.

The application is duly accepted along with the fee by NMIMS. An email with the username and password to log onto www.nmat.org.in is sent to the candidate. Candidates can then schedule the test on preferred date and location subject to availability.
